US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said he considers the legalization of marijuana possible. He said this at a meeting with voters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which was broadcast by ABC TV channel.

‚ÄúI¬†don‚Äôt¬†think¬†people¬†should¬†be¬†sent¬†to¬†jail¬†for¬†using¬†drugs.¬†These¬†people¬†should¬†be¬†sent¬†for¬†compulsory¬†treatment,¬†we¬†should¬†build¬†clinics¬†in¬†order¬†to¬†cure¬†these¬†people¬†of¬†drug¬†addiction.¬†We¬†should¬†decriminalize¬†marijuana¬†so¬†that¬†cases¬†related¬†to¬†this,¬†were¬†not¬†registered¬†as¬†people¬†and¬†when¬†detained¬†by¬†the¬†police,¬†a¬†person¬†could¬†say¬†that¬†he¬†had¬†no¬†criminal¬†history, “the¬†democrat¬†noted.

As you know, in the United States, possession and smoking of marijuana are prohibited at the federal level, but in a number of states, its use is allowed for recreational purposes.
