Many people try to quit smoking cigarettes by using a CBD vape. While we don’t have long-term data on smoking CBD extract, the cannabinoid isn’t addictive, so you won’t experience withdrawals when you stop. CBD’s Potential to Fight Addiction

A study was conducted to find out if CBD could reduce drug cravings and anxiety caused by withdrawals from heroin. CBD and placebo were administered to 42 participants. After the dose, they were then exposed to heroin paraphernalia, and their emotions, anxiety, and vital signs were observed.

The study found “that Individuals receiving the non-psychoactive cannabinoid CBD medication reported less craving after being exposed to drug cues compared with individuals receiving placebo.” While the study doesn’t specifically observe people suffering from cigarette addiction, heroin is known to have a more intense addictive property. Hopefully, more studies will be conducted to further our understanding of CBD and addiction.  

How to Use CBD to Quit Smoking?

Researchers used 600 and 800mg doses in the aforementioned study. Experts have found that significantly larger doses than people typically take are more beneficial when combating addiction and anxiety.

We recommend starting with a low dose and working your way up to amounts exceeding 100mgs. CBD isn’t going to deliver instantaneous results; therefore, you need to take the cannabinoid consistently.
