James Belushi Claims Medical Marijuana Could Have Saved His Brother’s Life

Аctor James Belushi stars in the new Discovery reality series Growing Belushi, which follows the star’s life and his family’s cannabis farm in Oregon.

“I just thought it was something that no one had ever seen,” Belushi told Fox News about what made him let the cameras track him, his family and employees.

“I think there are people who are very scared of cannabis and its properties, and I thought, ‘You know what? If everyone just sees how it is grown, sees people who are involved in the process who really care … testing, safety, they might feel a little more relaxed. “

Belushi shared that he strongly believes in the medicinal benefits that marijuana can provide for those experiencing health problems, including anxiety, insomnia, and Alzheimer’s.

“The show is very funny because I’m an idiot. You watch me study agriculture, cannabis and other funny things, ” said the actor.

Belushi’s passion for her farm is fueled in part by personal tragedy. His brother, John Belushi, passed away in 1982 at the age of 33 from a drug overdose. According to the actor, the brother probably self-medicated to cope with the head injuries he received early in his life.

“My brother, I think, suffered from CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy),” Belushi explained.
