Jay-Z Gets Into the Pot Game

Jay-Z decided to go into the marijuana growing business. Caliva on Tuesday announced a partnership with Jay-Z to become the brand’s strategist.

Representatives for Caliva, which was used in San Jose in 2015 after California’s legalization of marijuana, confirmed that the rapper will lead the “creative direction” at the company.

The rapper & Beyoncé’s husband, will also be in charge of the company’s social messaging. One of the projects is educational trainings for ex-prisoners who will have a chance to get well-paid and legal work after being released from prison.

“We want to create something amazing, have fun while working, do good and help people,” the rapper himself said in a statement.

Jay-Z announced the launch of the Reform Alliance initiative this year. The goal of the project is to help 1 million Americans who will be released on parole in the next five five-year terms.

According to Forbes, Jay-Z became the first billionaire hip-hop artist in June thanks to investments in clothing and champagne, as well as applications to Uber and his own entertainment company called Roc Nation.

Jay-Z isn’t the first one in this niche. In the year 2016, Snoop Dog and Whoopi Goldberg also launched their brands of CBD-included products.
