New York Sets Regulations for Hemp Deprived Products

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that the state Department of Health has proposed rules in line with legislation passed earlier this year. The regulations have been eagerly awaited by industrial farmers and cannabis processors across the state, as well as hundreds of businesses that make consumer products from CBD or hemp-derived cannabidiol.

There are federal regulations on growing cannabis, but not processing cannabinoid products. Proposed government regulations require laboratory testing and labeling to ensure consumers get what they pay for. The state health department has proposed regulations in line with legislation passed earlier this year.
